Our Consulting partner urgently requires the services of an experienced Senior Software Developer on an Outside IR35 Contract basis. You’ll be joining a project team delivering a high profile program of work for a Government client.

This project focuses on the development and enhancement of cloud-native digital services that support millions of citizens through secure, reliable and accessible public sector platforms.

To support this initiative, the client requires a Fullstack Senior Developer / DevOps Engineer who can work across the entire technology stack – from user-facing applications through to backend services and cloud infrastructure. The role will be instrumental in designing, building and operating modern microservice-based solutions hosted on AWS, ensuring applications are delivered through fully automated CI/CD pipelines and managed using Infrastructure as Code.

Specific skills / experience / tech stack / tools / technical expertise:

Front-End Development:
● Node.js, React and Angular.
● Experience building accessible, responsive UIs.

Back-End Development:
● Kotlin (essential) and Spring Boot (Java).
● Strong foundations in object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.

AWS Cloud Platform
● Core services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53.
● Experience with serverless and managed infrastructure.

Containers & Microservices
● Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), or AWS ECS.
● Experience designing and breaking down services into decoupled microservices.

API Documentation
● OpenAPI Specification (OAS) / Swagger.
● Driving an API-first approach to development.

Version Control & CI/CD
● GitHub (essential).
● Advanced knowledge of branching strategies, GitHub Actions, and automating code quality/security gates.

Infrastructure & Automation
● Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
● Implementation of workflow automation tools to streamline operations.
